cold laser therapy

Cold Lasers, also known as low level lasers, initiate increased microcirculation and enhanced tissue regeneration after a musculoskeletal injury decreasing pain and inflammation and increasing ease of movement.

Cold lasers help stimulate tissue repair unlike the hot lasers that are used during surgical procedures to cut tissue. Low level lasers have been used safely for over 24 years without negative side effects.

Laser beam light is focused light that emits photon that move in the same parallel direction at the same wavelength. This is called coherent light. This focused light passes through the skin's dermis and attaches to specialized cell membrane photo receptors. This increases cell membrane permeability causing an enzyme cascade that affects physiological processes with decreased inflammation and improved tissue regeneration of an injured area.

ERCHONIA lasers were the first to gain FDA approval for the treatment of chronic neck and shoulder pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. Elite athletes have used cold lasers for years to enhance performance and assist with injuries. At Health In Motion Physical Therapy, we have used cold laser treatments the past 6 years with excellent results.
